System manufacturer
A system manufacturer (for example an integrator) designs and commissions the robot system, including but not limited to the robot, load transfer stations, and accessories such as MiR Charge 48V.
It is the system manufacturer's responsibility to ensure that the robot system complies with local legislation and to ensure that any hazards have been adequately reduced. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Performing and documenting a risk assessment
- Implementing risk reduction means, such as floor markings and other information for use
- Providing instructions for the end user
- Creating a Declaration of Conformity (only applicable in the EU)
Special attention must be given to the following risks with reference to the Essential Health and Safety Requirement (EHSR) from the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Annex I:
- EHSR 1.3.7 risks related to moving parts. Access to moving parts must be prevented by means of safeguards or protective devices.
- EHSR 1.4.1 general requirements to safeguards. The default Protective field alone is not adequate for safeguarding.
