Intended use
MiR250 Base Robot is intended to be commissioned and used in indoor industrial environments where access for the public is restricted. For details about the environmental conditions, see MiR250 specifications.
The robot is equipped with safety-related features that are purposely designed for collaborative operation in a space not limited by perimeter safeguards, such as fixed guards or safety light curtains.
The robot is intended to be designed, commissioned, and integrated into a robot system by a system manufacturer.
The robot is intended to be commissioned according to the guidelines in Commissioning. This is a prerequisite for safe usage. Guidelines outlined in this manual will not provide adequate risk reduction. A complete risk assessment is required.
Any use or application deviating from intended use is deemed to be impermissible misuse—see Foreseeable misuse.
CE mark in accordance with the Radio Equipment Directive
Machinery placed on the market within the European Union is required to be CE marked to declare compliance with applicable European directives. Depending on the application, more than one directive may apply, and the responsible party must identify these. The responsible party must declare conformity and apply a CE mark for each applicable directive.
The robot is required to be CE marked for the Radio Equipment Directive and the Machinery Directive.
The robot is partly completed machinery, which means that it cannot be CE marked in accordance with the Machinery Directive until its specific usage is identified, and it is integrated and commissioned as part of a complete robot application. The robot alone is already CE marked in accordance with the Radio Equipment Directive by MiR. This is specified on the nameplate of the robot.
Any modifications or additions to the application’s radio modules will require a new assessment and validation of the Radio Equipment Directive by the responsible party that conducts the modification or addition.
It is the responsibility of the party that commissions and integrates the robot into a complete robot system to CE mark for the Machinery Directive once the robot application is completed.
