Operating the robot
The robot has three operating modes: Maintenance mode, Automatic mode, and Locked mode.
You switch between modes using the Operating mode key—see Control panel and display. The Operating mode key can be removed from the robot in all modes.
Maintenance mode
In Maintenance mode, the robot is removed from operations and is not accounted for by MiR Fleet and cannot receive or execute a mission.
You can also control the robot manually using the tiller in Maintenance mode—see Manual mode.
This mode is used for setup, maintenance, safety function tests, troubleshooting, and running diagnostics.
Automatic mode
In this mode, the robot executes the programmed missions. After switching the key to this mode, you can remove the key, and the robot will continue driving automatically.
You can control the robot manually using the tiller in Automatic mode—see Manual mode.
This mode can also be used for mapping.
The robot can drive automatically in the following ways:
Schedule an order
Orders are active instances of a mission where it is assigned and executed by a robot. Orders are scheduled through MiR Fleet. For more information about creating missions and to see Mission examples
Send the robot to a location on the active map
To send the robot to a selected location, open the active map, either in a dashboard or the map editor, and select Send robot to target followed by the location and orientation you want the robot to drive to.
Send the robot to a position or marker on the active map
To send the robot to an existing position or marker, open the active map, either in a dashboard or the map editor, and select a position or marker followed by Send robot to.
Locked mode
In this mode, the robot is locked. You cannot start a mission or drive the robot when it is in Locked mode. Do not push or pull the robot manually while it is in locked mode.
